It's that time of year...

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

What a great time of year.  It's interesting, for most of my client's this is a slower time of the year.  As all of us CEOs know, slower means tighter cash flow, budgets, year ends and general stress.  Ugh.  Add on top, the record world-wide recession.  Stress +.  BUT, on the other side of life, it really is the most wonderful time of the year.  So much happiness, friendships, family, all of your loved ones.  Wether you are together, or reach out with a call or email, {Insert Geek Joke:  "video conference"} you are thinking, taking the moment to think about these wonderful connections.  I remember my first time working in local government and realizing due to politics we could not say Merry Christmas.  Instead we used Happy Holidays.  The kinda bugged me.  I have many friends how do not celebrate Christmas, and none of them are offended when I say Merry Christmas, they know I am wishing them the best.

I got over it, years ago.  I received this image (linked to coke.com), it gave me that little jolt....the one that makes you really appreciate, all the greatness in life.  With the economics right now we hear a lot a bad news....and if you ever watch the news you are bathing in negativity.

So now, to you I say, Merry Christmas - take time to appreciate all you have, for just a moment, ignore the unhappies out there and just smile.  It's the best gift you can give  yourself, and it's free.
